About

Who am I?

I am Cat Hepburn, an award-winning script writer, spoken word artist and workshop facilitator based in Glasgow.  I hold an MA with distinction in TV Fiction Writing from Glasgow Caledonian University, and an MA Hons in Theatre and Slavonic Studies from the University of Glasgow. I’m passionate about working with marginalised voices, exploring social issues and using storytelling to empower, provoke and make people laugh.

What do I do?

I lecture up to MA level and facilitate workshops in creative writing, spoken word and screenwriting. I am co-host of Creative Scotland funded spoken word night Sonnet Youth and I write and perform commissioned poetry (previous clients include Wire media, Zero Waste Scotland and Siren Cinematics), as well as producing original pieces for the online platform BBC The Social. My scriptwriting experience includes short films, animations and stageplays, and I am trained in writing for continuing TV dramas.
